Coming from the Hieronymus fishing family, Captain Cord has fished North Carolina waters since he was a child. As a kid he commercial net fished the ocean and sounds with his dad and brother, (Captain Jeremiah Hieronymus) for Spot, Spanish Mackerel and trolled commercial gear for King Mackerel. Then as the nets set they would grab their rod and reels and fun fish for trout and flounder. Captain Cord’s dad, Captain Cordy Hieronymus and his three brothers started Hieronymus Brothers Seafood in the early 70’s. They caught, sold and distributed all their own seafood and created a reputation for the freshest seafood around. Being brought up on and around his dad’s boats ranging from 17’-75’ has been a definite advantage in his fishing career. 

Captain Cord uses his 19’ Maycraft (Hieronymus Bros.4) equipped with light tackle, top of the line Furuno GPS navigation and color scope electronics to efficiently fish the creeks, rivers and near-shore areas of southern North Carolina. To cover the off-shore/gulf stream area he uses the 42’ Stapleton (Reel Action) that is proven to raise fish. Reel Action is a twin diesel engine boat equipped with two top of the line GPS/chart plotters, two fish finding color scopes for deep and very deep water, radar, air conditioning, refrigerator, Epirb and the fish magnet itself, the tuna green stick. Captain Cord only uses top of the line rod, reels and tackle for ultimate enjoyment.
